Immigration law advice for immigrants to Coquitlam and Langley

Since there are numerous avenues available for potential immigrants to become permanent residents of Canada, Drysdale Bacon McStravick (“DBM”), specialists in immigration law in Coquitlam and Langley, meets extensively with its clients to tailor an immigration package that meets each client’s needs and aspirations.

Some of the immigration law avenues available for potential immigrants to Coquitlam and Langley include:

(a) Skilled Worker Class – which is governed by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (“CIC”). Under this immigration law program, CIC values the skills and experiences that foreign professionals and workers bring with them on a pre-determined set of selection criteria such as age, education, work experience, English/French language abilities to determine whether the foreign professional or worker qualifies for immigration to Canada.

(b) Business Class – which is governed by CIC. Potential immigrants who have recent experience running or investing in businesses, may qualify to come to Canada as a business immigrant. CIC uses a pre-determined set of selection criteria such as net worth and recent management experience, to determine whether the potential immigrant qualifies under Canadian immigration law as a business immigrant.

(c) Provincial Nomination - most Canadian provinces have programs that encourage immigrants to settle in those provinces. Each Province sets its own criteria required to qualify and determines who will be selected for a nominee certificate. Once a potential immigrant receives a nominee certificate from a Province, CIC reviews the application for security and medical concerns before issuing permanent residency.

(d) Family Class - Family class immigration law is intended to reunite families. To sponsor a family member, other than a spouse or a child, the sponsoring relative must meet pre-determined income guidelines or show that there are humanitarian & compassionate grounds for issuing permanent residency to this family member. Family Class immigration law is governed by CIC and can be processed inside or outside of Canada.
