Mike was called to the British Columbia bar in 2015, and before joining Drysdale Bacon McStravick LLP, he articled at a criminal defence firm in Toronto. Mike spent his articling year developing extensive litigation experience by attending court daily and assisting on files at every level of the Ontario courts.
Mike's work assisting senior counsel in complex trials and working on the Innocence Project during law school have given him significant experience reviewing detailed disclosure evidence, including medical reports.
With a focus on personal injury law and civil ligation, Mike also has a specific interest in estate litigation, including wills variation matters.
Mike is skilled at helping his clients manage volatile situations where emotions can run high. He makes it a priority to assist clients in assessing their situations in a calm, objective way that allows them to make good decisions about what is best in the long run.
Originally from Oakville, Ontario, Mike studied history and religious studies at the University of Waterloo and the University of Toronto before moving to Vancouver to pursue a legal career. He earned his JD from the University of British Columbia.
Mike has worked for organizations such as the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and Prostate Cancer Canada.
